ENGLAND: Premier League - Round 2
The Reds started the season with a great perfomance, beating Norwich 3:0 away.
Leipzig's Ibrahima Konaté is the only new addition to the squad, and he and the recovered Van Dijk should form one of the best stopper duos in the Premier League.
Liverpool's main attacking weapon is Mohamed Salah, who scored 22 goals and 5 assists last season, and he's not sparing any points this season either, as the Reds beat Norwich 3:0 and Salah has 1+2. Robertson and Henderson will miss the game due to injury.
Burnley flew into the season with virtually unchanged line-up as they welcomed Brighton to their stadium in the first round. Burnley lost 1:2.
Liverpool's previous season finished in third place when to second Man. United lost 5 points and to Man. City by 17 points, so it certainly wasn't the season as expected.
If we look at the difference between these teams last season, Liverpool got 30 more points, scored 35 more goals and conceded 24 less goals which is just a big difference and Burnley finished the season in 17th place.
I expect the home team to clearly dominate from the first minute, with Burnley creating a minimum of chances. The quality is definitely on Liverpool's side, Liverpool's attack seems to be in great form for the start of the season and with Van Dijk back I believe their defence will also follow on great performances again.
My bet:
Handicap: Liverpool -1.5 @ 1.75 (local bookie)
