LaLiga: Rayo Vallecano - Mallorca

Vallecano, last season's sixth-place team in the second league, which battled its way back to the elite through the playoffs, is the biggest surprise of the season so far. No more surviving in the basement of the table. Madrid club is in sixth place after 13 games! Before the national break, Rayo lost 1-2 at Real Madrid, with Kroos saving Valentín's goal-line finish in stoppage time and one excellent save from goalkeeper Courtois. So the valuable point was very close. Vallecano is even stronger at home. They have never lost in their stadium (5-1-0, 13-2) and are even the best in the league in this aspect!

Given the above, I therefore trust Vallecano more in the clash between the two newcomers to LaLiga this season. Mallorca are 13th (3-6-4) and have drawn each of their last four league games. But I think they will leave Vallecas without a point.

Vallecano really surprised many many of us and addition of experienced Falcao was a great move. Unfortunately he won't be in the squad today for thigh injury.

I expect close game but Vallecano with their home record this season IS still the favorite of the game for me. Odds acceptable, reasonable.
