SPAIN: LaLiga
Alavés played only seven of the eight rounds, as its September game at Villarreal was postponed. And in those seven games, Alaves managed to score only two goals (2:12). In one case, a single goal was enough for the first (and so far only) victory of the season, surprisingly against the reigning champions Atlético Madrid (1-0). But in the other six matches, Alaves footballers went defeated, usually without scoring a single goal. In this context, the current second-to-last place cannot be surprising. Alavés was also in the basement of the table last season, finishing in 16th place just four points above the relegation zone.
Betis, on the other hand, claimed their Europa League place with their sixth place finish and are now in the running to qualify after wins over Ferencváros (3:1) and Celtic (4:3). In league, Betis is also significantly more successful than their opponent on Monday - tenth place does not look great, but it is only two points away from fifth-placed Osasuna. Betis have only lost to Villarreal (2:0 away) and Real Madrid (0:1 home) this season. Alavés is nowhere near the quality of these opponents. So I believe that Betis will not leave the long trip to the north of Spain empty-handed.
H2H: Last season
Betis 3:2 Alaves
Alaves 0:1 Betis
My bet:
Draw No Bet: Betis @ 1.50 (bet365)
