Kladno won only one of their last five games, but it was the last one, so they improved their mood before the national break. It was probably Kladno's most valuable win of the season, they managed to win 5:1 on the ice of Zlin. So far, Kladno have a ten-point lead over last-place Zlin and they will definitely want to increase it.
Energie Karlovy Vary had only one representative at the Karjala and that was Jakub Flek, who has been a mainstay of the team for a long time. Before the break, Vary won twice in a row (3:2 after overtime against Olomouc and 4:1 against Zlin). Even so, Karlovy Vary are still in 12th place, which is not ideal. The arrival of Tomáš Mikúš from Zlin, who played for Vary in previous years, may be a positive news. With a score of 4+13 he was the most productive player of Zlin and currently has the most points of all Karlovy Vary players.
Vary may be the better team on paper, but they will miss Jiri Cernoch and Petr Koblasa again. Moreover, Karlovy Vary has won only one away game out of nine, and that was a win against Zlin. It will be a tough game, but the visitors could still get at least two points, as Vary have won nine of their last eleven games against Kladno and have failed to get a point in only one case.
