Omsk is a very unpleasant opponent for everyone under Hartley from Canada. He encourages his players to play Canadian style and it shows on the ice. They cover the middle zone well and that's the way to success. Performance wise they are on the up and have 3 wins and 2 losses in their last 5 games.
Omsk has improved a lot this year. Cehlarik (who has already managed 8+4), Knight (6+7) and they made a dangerous duo. There are also players with NHL experience and the team is perfectly balanced.
They will face Yekaterinburg, who have a relatively good start to the season, but have only been successful on the opponents' ice. At home they are a huge disaster and have a 1-2-3 score from 6 games, losing both draws. The team is also no longer as strong as it was under Dawes and others and has seen a few changes. However, I don't like this team at all. They are a very good team in names, but they are struggling a lot game wise and now they are on a string of 4 losses in a row and 6 losses out of the last 7 games.
These teams have already played each other in Ekaterinburg this year and Omsk won the game 3:1. I expect something similar now, that not many goals will fall. But I also expect another great tactic from Hartley and Omsk will not leave here without points.
My prediction: Draw No Bet: Omsk @ 1.85 (bet365)
