St. Petersburg at home against a weakened Yekaterinburg!
St. Petersburg is every year one of the strongest teams, proved their qualities last game (3rd game of new season) when they beat Vladivostok 9:2. They won the first game of the season 3:2 in Cerepovets and then won 4:3 after a shootout in Yaroslavl. They got a young kid from the NHL, Handemark, to add to the offense and the team will run really great. They sending a 16y.o. talent named Michkov to the 1st line with a 2+1 score after 2 games.
They have no reason to smile in Yekaterinburg, because after 2 games they have 0 points and they are warming up the last place in the Eastern Conference. They lost both home games. First 2:6 with Magnitogorsk and then 2:4 with Ufa.
Yekaterinburg is missing Jakub Kovar, who has been placed on the injured list so that the club can work on a new number one. Kovar's start this season is not sure! However, he's been the number one for the last years and now a situation will arise that was bound to happen at some point and that is that Jeka doesn't have a stable number two. Last game speaks for itself, where the goalkeepers were substituted after half the game at 1:4.
That's why I'm going for a home team today. Petersburg is a quality team, one of the top teams in the KHL and Yekaterinburg will now have to deal with the situation in his own goal.
