Omsk have a very strong team this year, but it seems to me that they haven't used the potential that team have so far. Omsk is currently in 6th place in the Eastern Conference with 16 points in 15 games played. Team features goalie Simon Hrubec, two very experienced Finnish players - Oliver Kaski (3+7) and Ville Poka (2+3). Experienced Russian player on the defensive side Emelin or Bereglazov, who has 2+3 so far. On the offensive side, Russian players Prokhorkin, Tolchinsky (3+10), also very productive Canadian Corban Knight (8+7).
Nur Sultan is playing above average than expected, I would say. They are one place worse than Omsk in 7th place with 14 points but have played one game more.
In the last game played about a week ago Nur Sultan won, but this was a very lucky win, Omsk pressed the whole game and have much more shots, but was not productive.
I believe Omsk will be more productive in this game than in the last game, they will show their quality and dominate the game and win. They have a very good team, they play nice hockey - but they don't take chances and that costs them points.
My prediction: Avangard Omsk to win @ 1.72
