Serie A
The first round of the new calendar year 2022 and the first round of the second half of this year's Italian Serie A season will end with a showdown between Juventus and Napoli. Unlike in previous years, it is not a direct battle for the title, but for a place in the top four. Juventus have improved significantly recently, winning five of their previous six competitive matches with a clean sheet. But another similar performance is highly uncertain - Juventus will have to do without Giorgio Chiellini and quite possibly Leonardo Bonucci. So the De Ligt - Rugani stopper pairing is looming, which hasn't quite convinced so far. Juventus are also dealing with a strange situation in attack, as Álvaro Morata is on his way out and a replacement must be found urgently.
Napoli have to accept the departure of Lorenzo Insigne, who was tempted by the offer of Toronto from MLS. The native of Napoli has therefore probably the last chance to win the championship title with his team, which even led for a long time this season, but started to lose in the last rounds. Coach Spalletti certainly welcomed the news that Nigerian striker Osimhen dropped out of the Africa Cup nomination, but he still can't count on him due to his current injury. However, Napoli have already proven this season that they are not among the favourites for the title by coincidence and are certainly not the outsiders they appear to be at first glance.
My bet:
Asian Handicap: Napoli +1.0 @ 1.67 (bet365)
