ITF WOMEN - SINGLES: W25 Monastir (Tunisia), hard - 1/16-finals
This match will offer us a duel between German tennis player Mariana Nastasja Schunk (302) and Amalia Andrea Rosca (377) from Romania.
Schunk is an 18 year old tennis player, a former World No. 15 and is 8 positions away from her ranking high in the women's rankings. Last year, she made her presence felt for the first time at the W25 clay tournament in Bydgoszcz, Poland, where she went all the way from qualification to the title and repeated the same feat a few weeks later at her home event in Braunschweig. She went on to play in a CF tournament in Karlsruhe.
Rosca is a 22-year-old player and her highest ranking was 210 (November 2018). Last year, she played practically only clay court and played quite a few matches in the UTR Pro Tennis Series, where the level of players is not nearly as high as in ITF tournaments. There she played one final and SF in Antalya and one more SF participation in Sevilla, Spain.
Both players are more clay court players, but I have more faith in the German tennis player, who has had a very successful year and I expect her to do better in this match and it will be her who will advance to the next round.
