ITF MEN - SINGLES: M25 Villers Les Nancy (France), hard (indoor) - 1/8-finals
This match will offer us a duel between German Maximilian Neuchrist (540) and Harold Mayot (407) from France.
Neuchrist is a 30-year-old tennis player and was the highest ranked at 244 (July 2018). He has been playing mostly hard this year and has gotten into very good form, grabbing 3 semifinals and one quarterfinal appearance in the last 4 tournaments he has played on Portuguese hard. Here he beat Bulgarian Donski in the 1st round.
Mayot is a 19-year-old player and former world junior number one. He is at his ranking maximum in the men's competition, but this season has not been a good one for him so far (14/15). He only appeared on the circuit in early August and has played 2 semifinals on clay. Indoors he has a 6/8 score and his best game was in Toulouse, where he played a quarterfinal. Here he beat Australian Mehrotra in 1st round.
Mayot is undoubtedly a very talented tennis player, but he has not yet shown his potential indoors this year. Neuchrist has come into good form on hard and although he hasn't played indoors much this year (6/3), he can certainly play indoors (74/53 overall).
