ITF WOMEN - SINGLES: W25 Naples, FL 2 (USA), clay - 1/16-finals
This match will offer us a duel between Spanish tennis player Layre Romero Gormaz (474) and Hanna Chang (243) from the USA.
Romero Gormaz is a 19-year-old and was the highest ranked player in the juniors at 39. She will have her 1st full season in the women's this year and is at her ranking maximum. She has played mostly clay and in July she claimed her first 2 titles in Cairo, Egypt and went on to play a few more quartefinals matches. Here in the US she finished runner-up to Korea's Han in the 1st round at Reami in Daytona Beach in Orlando. Here she qualified over home player A. Rogers and Inoue.
Chang is a 23-year-old tennis player and is 4 positions away from her ranking maximum. She has played most of her matches at home tournaments this year and has semifinal from the W100 clay at Bonita Springs or semifinal from the hard in Las Vegas. She last played in Daytona Beach where she beat Kalieva and Myers and finished in a quartefinal with Korea's Jang.
In this match, the favourite for me is definitely the home tennis player, who is a bit higher in performance and should be able to handle the young Spaniard, who is not nearly as experienced, and advance to the next round.
Hanna Chang to win @ 1.80 (bet365)
