ITF WOMEN - SINGLES: W25 Lagos (Portugal), hard - 1/16-finals
This match will offer us a duel between Spanish tennis player Jessica Bouzas Maneiro (360) and Daria Lopatetska (509) from Ukraine.
Bouzas Maneiro is a 19 year old tennis player and is currently 4 ranks below her maximum. She is playing well this year with a 44/18 score and has won 3 ITF titles. She hasn't played that much on the hard (6/3), but she even reached the final at the W25 in Madrid, where she fell short to France's Hesse. Her last appearance was last week on hard in Loule, where she lost to Bassols Ribera in 3 sets.
Lopatetska is an 18-year-old player with a high ranking of 216 (June 2019). She has played almost nothing on clay this year (4/11, 9/12 total). She played on hard last week in Loule, where she finished in the 2nd round against Frenchwoman Paquet. Here she beat Russia's Garkusha in the first round of qualification and in the final she beat Japan's Akita after a supertiebreak.
Although Bouzas Maneiro is mainly a clay court player, she has shown that she can play on hard as well. She is playing in great form this year and I expect her to beat Lopatetska, who is not having a great season, and advance to the next round.
