ITF MEN - SINGLES: M15 Ulcinj 4 (Montenegro), clay - Final
This match will offer us a duel between Rrezart Cungu (1165) from Montenegro and Samuel Vincenti Ruggieri (1104) from Italy.
Cungu is a 23-year-old tennis player with a high ranking of 810 (October 2017). He has been a student at Wake Forest University since 2017. He has a 30/10 score on the ITF tournaments this year and the longest he has gone to the quarterfinals. Here in Ulcinj, where he comes from, he made it through qualifying last week, beating Aubriot and Friberg in the main event, and played a close battle with Argentina's Navone, who eventually won after 6:7 / 6:7.
He has continued his great performances this week and even with the qualifying matches he hasn't lost a set, beating Nincevic and Serafini, Houkes and most recently Argentina's Egea in the main event here.
Vincent Ruggeri is a 19 year old player and the highest ranked was at 1082 (July 2021). He only started playing more regularly on the ITF tournaments this year and the furthest he has gone is a few tournaments in the quartefinals. Here he beat Battaglino, Moret, Musialek and Navone
In this match I will trust Cungu, who is much more experienced, although he hasn't played much on the ITF tournaments due to his studies in the USA. Moreover, he is playing in his hometown and I expect him to go for his first ITF title with the support of his friends and family.
