ITF WOMEN - SINGLES: W60 Nantes (France), hard (indoor) - 1/16-finals
This match will offer us a duel between two local tennis players, Chloe Paquet (165) and Oceane Dodin (93).
Paquet is a 27-year-old player and is currently 20 places away from her maximum. She is playing great this year and has picked up 4 ITF titles. On clay she was celebrate in Wroclaw and Kiev, on hard 2 weeks ago in Netanya, Israel and last week she dominated the W80 indoor tournament in Poitiers, where she beat Bolkvadze, Tan and Waltert in the final.
Dodin is a 25-year-old tennis player and the highest she has looked at is 46th in the world rankings (June 2017). She did not do well at WTA tournaments this year and usually finished in the opening rounds. Only on clay in Palermo did she beat Dulghera, Diatchenko and Cristian, ending up in semifinal with Ruse. At the last 2 indoor ITF she finished in quarterfinals. In Hamburg with Ruzic and last week in Poitiers with 18 years old Jacquemot, who beat her smoothly 6:2 / 6:3, so she was definitely not in an optimal game mood.
Paquet has had a tough 2 weeks, but on the other hand she is on a winning streak and that always recovers better. Plus, it's about a 2 hour drive from Poitiers to Nantes, so there will be no long and exhausting travel. Dodin hasn't been playing well the last few weeks and a fired up Paquet is not an outsider in this match for me.
