ITF WOMEN - SINGLES: W25 Lisbon 2 (Portugal), clay - Semi-finals
This match will offer us a duel between Romanian tennis player Andrea Prisacariu (369) and Ipek Oz (338) from Turkey.
Prisacariu is a 21-year-old player and is currently at her ranking maximum. This year she is only playing clay and spent the first 1/3 of the year in Antalya (Turkey) where she won 2 titles and 2 more semifinals finishes. However, she didn't do so well outside Turkey and the only successful tournament for her was W25 in Klosters (Switzerland), where she played the final against In-Albon (206.), but lost (0:2). Here she easily managed the qualification and the 1st round with Santo. She didn't fail with (returning after childbirth) Maria (2:0) and with Cengiz (2:0) from Turkey.
Oz is a 22-year-old tennis player and is one position below her maximum in the rankings. She has also played most of her matches on clay this year. She played the final in Antalya and Wroclaw but didn't reach the title. Her biggest success this year is her final appearance in the W60 tournament in Collonge-Bellerive, where she beat 2:0 Zuger (336.) or 2:0 Bondar (146.) and was on a good way to win the final, but the experienced Haddad Maia (116.) eventually turned the match around and won 2:1. Here she also easily managed the qualification and then beat Stevanovic, Bassols Ribera and Australian Perez without losing a set.
In this match, the Turkish player is the favourite for me to win. Prisacariu has 2 titles this year, but both were from W15 in Antalya and she hasn't been able to make it in more prestigious tournaments. Oz has beaten a lot more quality players than her Romanian opponent this year and I expect her to prove her quality in this match as well and advance to the title match.
