ITF MEN - SINGLES: M15 Doha 3 (Qatar), hard - Semi-finals
This match will offer us a duel between Georgian tennis player Alexander Bakshi (885) and Hanwen Li (923) from China.
Bakshi is a 24-year-old player and is 41 positions away from his ranking maximum. He has studied in the US in recent years at universities in Texas and Oklahoma. This year he was able to start playing more regularly on the ITF tournaments. He played mainly clay for the first half of the year and got the furthest to the 1/8-finals. He has been playing here in Doz for the last few weeks and is getting into very good form on the local hard courts. He played semifinal here and after 2 weeks he played semifinal again after wins over India's Agarwal , Germany's Yang and China's Mu.
Li is a 19-year-old tennis player and he was also ranked 8th in the juniors. He switched to men this year and has a negative 13/17 score so far. He played one semifinal on hard in Sharm Al Sheikh and one on clay in Sofia. Here he finished twice in the first round and this week he managed to get past the German duo Hornitchek, Schell and then beat the Slovenian Kocevar-Desman.
In this match, the Georgian tennis player is a big favourite for me. He is playing great here and hasn't lost a set yet. 2 weeks ago he beat Hanwen Li here clearly 6:4 6:2 and I expect a similar result this time as well.
