ITF MEN - SINGLES: M15 Platja D'Aro (Spain), clay - 1/16-finals
This match will offer us a purely Spanish fight between Alejandro Manzanera Pertusa (1417) and Jorge Martinez Martinez (2107).
Manzanera Pertusa is an 18-year-old tennis player and is at his career high in men's tennis. He is ranked 19th in the world in juniors (max. 15) and is a very good clay court player (60/14). This year he is already starting to get into senior tournaments and last time in Melilla he beat Friend and Vernier (765.) and was not able to beat Lopez Montagudo (614.) in QF.
Marinez Martinez is a 26 year old player and the highest ranked player on the list was 1403 (April 2014). He played one competitive game between 2015-2020. He returned to the circuit last year with a 10/6 score, but only made it past the 1st round once at the ITF. His score this year is 22/13, but he hasn't made it past the opening round of the main event and all of his wins have come from qualifications or UTR Pro Series matches.
In this match I will trust the talented Spanish youngster, who has very good results in juniors and it is only a matter of time before he establishes himself permanently on the men's scene. Martinez Martinez may be trying to make a comeback, but the results just aren't there yet.
