12.11.21 - 20:45 CET
World Cup Qualification
Here I see the home country Italy as the favourite.
Italy has been playing great football for the last few years. They were on a 37 game unbeaten streak, but then came the defeat to Spain in the semi-finals of the Nations League. Then they beat Belgium for third place. They have an incredibly sophisticated defence and the Berardi-Immobile-Insigne attack is scary. They are unbeaten in their group. They have 4 wins and 2 draws with a score of 12:1. Only the Bulgarians have managed to score.
Switzerland are actually identical to Italy in the group. They also have 14 points and also have 4 wins and 2 draws. Their score is 10-1. Well, not surprisingly, they have the Bulgarians, Northern Ireland and Lithuania in the group. Their game play is pretty similar to Italy.
However, I trust Italy at a handicap of -1.0. Just the first match ended 0-0, but Italy didn't score about 5 big chances and Jorginho didn't score a penalty. Italy could have easily won 3-0. This match will also 100% decide who will go straight from the group and who will still have to fight. I believe that Italy will not underestimate anything at home. They will be driven by the fans and if the game goes the same way as the first one, I'm not worried about Italy not scoring.
My bet:
Asian Handicap: Italy - 1.0 @ 2.02 (bet365)
