COUNTER-STRIKE: Intel Extreme Masters Season XVI - Fall (Europe) - Play Offs - Final
The European mix under the Finnish organization ENCE managed an unexpected success, despite the fact that they entered the tournament as significant outsiders and few would have predicted them to even qualify for the play-offs, the opposite was true.
The truth is that they have a somewhat easy group and they were able to catch teams that are more than sure of a spot in the Majors in the playoffs. They won against G2 2-1, and they even beat Astralis, already safely qualified for the Challengers spot, 2-0.
Ninjas in Pyjamas are also safely qualified not only for the Major, but also for the Legends Stage. This greatly improves their chances of placing well in the Major, unlike other teams that tried to "save tactics" against ENCE, but they want something more. They are all about honour.
NIP pumped up the fans' expectations a lot when they bought the legendary Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz from Astralis, but this move didn't show much in the results. True, they get a solid second place at Flashpoint 3, but it's still not a tournament trophy. And that's what they're really after right now. This is the best opportunity to get it.
NIP have slightly tougher opponents. Movistar Riders, who wanted to make as big an impact as possible on the world stage in addition to qualifying for the Majors, and Vitality, who have a similar goal like NIP - to show that they belong to the first league.
In this case, NIPs clearly have the advantage. Form and stats on various maps play into their hands. The Grand Finals are played in a Best of 5 format, so NIP will have the opportunity to apply their long-standing facts and take full advantage of the talent that dev1ce hides in itself. Although I don't rule out a close game, but NIP will take the win.
My bet:
Ninjas in Pyjamas @ 1.72 (bet365)
