Here it is, the main tournament of Cologne 2021 in the cathedral of Counter Strike - Lanxess Arena.
Gambit came to the quarter-finals after losing the last battle against G2 1-2 that could have put them into the semis. FaZe with the new energy got to go through whole qualification where Astralis sent them to the lower bracket, but after wins over Spirit, Vitality and Heroic, here they are today, standing against world number 1, Gambit.
The main difference in this match is the team spirit, while Gambit as a #1 is always pushing for the top spots, people from FaZe said reaching the main tournament is the success and anything more would be an extra profit. The truth is that this gives FaZe a little bit free hands, clear minds etc. Of course i don't expect them to throw the game away, but this is Cologne and this is Gambit, i mean, that focus on trophy and $400k prize money for the winner is much better motivation that "we've reached the play-offs, it's good".
Second reason for my bet is altough I believe in FaZe reaching up the ranks, this is too soon for them to prove everything works like a charm. They are already able to put in the performance needed to reach the top 10 or even the top 5, but there is still so much instability in their performances that we all know this is still not their run
Gambit will also have an advantages in the map stats:
Nuke will probably get instantly banned by Gambit, then FaZe will have to pick something like Mirage to stay competitive, the problem is Gambit is a good team on Mirage too. There will be simply no easy choice for FaZe. Gambit would go for Vertigo for sure, but this map is expected to be banned instantly by FaZe too, the difference is Gambit will still have an opitons to pick the right map for them.
I like FaZe but in my bets I'm going for Gambit to go through. I divide my bet to two bets, in case FaZe would manage to go to map 3, i still believe Gambit will win on rounds handicap because there will be at least one map where Gambit will dominate and will make the handicap bet possible.

Gambit to win, rounds handicap -6,5 @ 1,83 (bet365)
