1. Houston in a B2B game, returning home after a 123-99 loss at Charlotte. Eric Gordon is on the decline, he's not completely healthy and there aren't many other experienced players out there right now.
2. Tragic streak of Lakers, who must be catching on now because Mr. King is about to lose his throne. He's doing his best at his age, but it's not enough - of course, against Rockets, he has a lot of interested underlings. Even though James is listed as probable, it's not the first time this season and it may be pretty much taken as such a play already (I think he'll be available - it would have to be something serious for him not to = such a little open secret already).
3. Russell Westbrook and his not-so-long engagement in Houston, where he wasn't very happy. Carmelo Anthony's Houston small ended his career in a very shameful way (he had a very short and unsuccessful engagement there, which had an almost liquidating effect) - he only got his second chance from Portland, so he will surely also "go for blood" against Houston, and last but not least, the lanky center Dwight Howard, who played 3 seasons in Houston from 2013-2016 and always tries and fights for every ball against them.
4. LAL have so many interested players against Houston, of which "Melo" (probably in Bench) will be a quality support, maybe backed up by Malik Monk (who played well against Nets). DeAndre Jordan was born in Houston and he could support with some mental heckling.
5. The absence of Anthony Davis obviously hurts a lot, but it's needed to pick up and Houston should be a trigger for a lot of Lakers players. Plus the last 10 H2H games and a W/L of 9/1 for LA Lakers.
6. Five losses in a row is already a huge crisis and it can't leave LeBron cold, who needs a team hungry for a win next to him and I think he will finally get it against Rockets.
7. Houston is looking for the return of Kevin Porter Jr. or this year's No. 2 pick Jalen Green. LAL without experienced players (Ariza, Rondo, Bazemore...) signed interesting 10-day contracts of very experienced players (Collison - he didn't show much in his debut or Isaiah Thomas for example).
Losing in Houston would already be a huge tragedy for one of the NBA's most storied organizations and they can't let that happen and just go for the win. This is a stellar team, but they don't play well together and that brings their overall performance down. Against Houston, there will be at least 3 players in big motivation and we have to add LeBron James, who is already taking these losses hard and will make it even more so. So tonight I think his teammates will support him as much as possible and they will win in Houston and finally cut the losing streak.
My bet:
Asian Handicap: Los Angeles Lakers -5.5 @ 1.90 (bet365)
