LaLiga
After the second round of the Copa del Rey, in which Granada were eliminated by Atlético Mancha Real (fourth league), the Andalusian team repaid their supporters with a 4-1 win over Mallorca on Sunday. It was Granada's fourth pointed league game in a row (previously Cádiz 1-1, Alavés 2-1, Bilbao 2-2), which allowed them to bounce back from the relegation places (15th place). They will now try to extend their streak in Wednesday's Round 9 match against Atlético Madrid, who have had an unsuccessful period.
The defending champions have lost three in a row in LaLiga, which is unusual for them. They started their black streak with an unexpected defeat to Mallorca (1:2), after which they lost to the league's top two teams Real Madrid (0:2) and Sevilla (1:2). Despite the above, Atlético remains the odds-on favourite, which is understandable given the strength, experience and reputation of its squad.
So I'm betting on goals on both sides. Atlético's defence is more penetrating by its standards this season (20) and Granada are scoring quite a few goals for where they are in the table (21). In its last five games, both teams have scored, and the same bet would have succeeded in both of their clashes with Atlético last season.
My bet:
Both Teams to Score - Yes @ 2.20 (bet365)
