ROMANIA: Liga 1
Voluntari is a small town next to Bucuresti. It is a "rich" town because on its territory there is the Pipera estate (where a lot of rich people live). Their mayor is Florin Pandele (he has been mayor there since 2000). He created this club and after a couple of seasons of fighting for survival in the top league (and always getting saved), they are unexpectedly (but deservedly) at the top of the table. The team under coach Ciobotariu is showing good performances. Gabi Tamás (has several games in West Ham jersey) has even already been offered a place in the club when he finishes his playing career. Adam Nemec, when he moved there said "he found terms like in Germany".
But Voluntari and Dinamo have always been "friends". When Voluntari needed help, Dinamo helped them. Before they built their stadium (named Anghel Iordanescu), Voluntari played their home games at Dinamo stadium. Last year it was even reported in the media that in case of relegation, Voluntari would sacrifice itself and offer its place in the first league to Dinamo. Last season in the play off, Voluntari "did not have their day" against Dinamo. It was the beginning of the series that led to Dinamo's survival in top league.
Interestingly, last season Viitorul didn't have a European Cup license (didn't apply for it). The mayor of Pandele is a member of PSD (a strong political side in Romania). Dinamo has been linked to this side several times (Negoita Ion and Robert , there was talk of Dinamo fans participating in a big protest led by PSD). The president of the union Burleanu and the president of the LPF Lorgulescu were appointed to their posts, both unexpectedly, by the PSD government. If the leadership of Romanian football "wants to save " Dinamo (and I think they do) then now is the time.
As for Dinamo, I expect their game to go up. Some interesting players came to the club, for example, defender Pinto or midfielder Espinosa.
In those situations, I don't think Dinamo will "walk away from this game empty-handed".
My bet:
Double Chance: Draw or Dinamo Bucharest @ 1.90 (bet365)
