Empoli fans may not have expected their team to stay relatively very quiet for so long as newcomers to the competition. What they certainly didn't expect, was that the home performance would be significantly less of a factor! In fact, the Tuscan side had won 30 out of 38 points in their last appearance at their own stadium, but this year they have only scored seven points in eight rounds here so far. And yet they are doing very well. Last time, the local supporters were delighted when their team turned the regional derby with Fiorentina (2-1) and won their second home victory in the last five rounds (previously Bologna 4-2). Empoli will have a great chance to repeat something similar in the clash with Udinese, which traditionally remains behind expectations this year, facing a long struggle for survival, and has not won at this stadium since 2015, which is not only due to the irregular participation of the home team in Serie A (1 draw, 2 losses). It doesn't look like reversing this winless streak at the moment, also because the home side scored the last four goals at home after the 60th minute of the game and fought until the very end.
