ITALY: Serie A
Empoli have settled very well in the top Italian league. After its triumph in the second league last year, they continues to perform well and is the only one that has not been drawn once so far. Five wins and six losses keep Empoli in the middle of the table with a seven-point lead over their next opponent, Genoa. Genoa are on the very edge of the relegation zone and in the last two rounds they have failed to beat the other relegation aspirants (Venezia 0:0, Spezia 1:1). Empoli, on the other hand, managed the last round brilliantly, robbing the Sassuolo stadium, where they were still losing 0:1 at the end. But two goals after the 80th minute of the game upset the opponent's coach Alessio Dionisi, who ironically put Empoli among the elite this season. The home team needs to work hard this time at their stadium, where they have won only once this season (1-0-5), while they have already brought 12 points from away. But the Genoa are no dangerous travellers (1-2-3) and there will be celebrations in the Tuscan countryside - Empoli will confirm their enthusiasm this year, while a tired-looking Genoa will lose again.
Today I believe Empoli mainly because not only they are playing at home and have more points, but the visiting Genoa is plagued by a large number of injuries, where it is especially worth mentioning that the guests are missing their top scorer Mattia Destro, who scored 6 goals in 8 games. The visitors are also missing injured midfielder Mohamed Fares, who has 2 goals in 7 games. They will also miss, for example, Maksimovic in defense. The home team, on the other hand, shouldn't miss their top scorer, youngster Pinamonti, who, if he starts in the starting line-up, I believe will help his team to get 3 points. Empoli should start with a full squad, so I believe that the home team will take 3 points.
My bet:
Empoli to win @ 2.10 (bet365)
