The home team is in great form going into the game, as we'll see in the stats below. They have already won six in a row and will be looking to string a seventh win. They go into the game with a 12-7-2 score (8-2-1 at home). The visitors from Arizona are coming into the game after two losses, including the last embarrassing 1-7 loss to Vegas. They are 3-12 in their last two games and enter the game with a 5-17-2 score (3-10-1 away).
Dallas Stars have a lot of players out, but most of them should be back on the ice tonight. I'm talking about players like - Radek Faksa, Luke Glendening, Denis Gurianov, Joel Kiviranta, John Klingberg and Michael Raffl. Who definitely won't make the game is injured goalie Ben Bishop, who is recovering from surgery.
Arizona Coyotes have a worse situation. From the injured list, it doesn't look like any players will be back. The coach will have to do without players like Jay Beagle, Carter Hutton, Dmitry Yashkin, Johan Larsson, Nick Schmaltz and Conor Timmins.
Dallas vs Arizona (standings)
* goals scored per game: 2.810 (21st) vs 1.792 (32nd)
* goals conceded per game: 2.714 (12th) vs 3.625 (30th)
* shots on goal per game 29.76 (20th) vs 25.58 (32nd)
* success shooting percentage: 9.44% (16th) vs 7.00% (31st)
* shot success rate of all goalies: 91.10% (11th) vs 89.20% (28th)
The home team is such an average team with a good power play that benefits from the home environment (12th in NHL), even though they have played fewer games at home than most other teams. The same thing could happen again as in the Edmonton game last night, but I believe Dallas will take the win at home. Dallas has won nine of the last 10 games between these two teams and only once in overtime. Of the last five games between these two teams, Dallas has won 4 times and Arizona once, the winner has only won by one goal four times! At the same time, in the last five games, at least five goals have been scored.
My bet:
Dallas Stars and Over 3.5 Goals @ 1.68
