Vítkovice is currently in thirteenth place and probably welcomed the break, having lost three games in a row. It wasn't against easy opponents (Olomouc, Mladá Boleslav, Trinec), and the scores in all three cases were very close. Vítkovice scored only two goals, which is a long-term problem. Overall, they score on average less than two goals per game, only Zlín is worse in this aspect. Dominik Lakatos, who is returning to Vítkovice after less than a year from SaiPa Lappeenranta from the Finnish top league, could improve they offensive productivity. Lakatos was the most productive player in Vítkovice last season with 23+19.
Plzeň also lost three times in a row, but they are much better in the table and are in fifth place. The visitors, mainly due to the loss of Milan Gulas, have bolstered their offensive lines with regular contributions from Ludwig Blomstrand, Martins Dzierkals and Michal Bulíř. Plzen have scored a total of 71 goals, with only Prague's Sparta bettering that statistic. Swedish forward Ludwig Blomstrand is the second best scorer in the league with 13 goals, but he will probably miss this game.
The last four matches between these two teams are three wins and one loss for Plzeň, but the last time the two teams met was in February, which meant that both teams had a change in their squads. The difference between teams in the table is eight places, but Vítkovice's games are usually very even and Dominik Lakatos could also contribute. Vitkovice won four out of seven games at home and could win by at least 2 points.
My predictions:
Double Chance: Vitkovice or Draw @ 1.54
Dominik Lakatos gets a point to the decision @ 1.65
