CZECH REPUBLIC: Extraliga - Round 4
The games between Sparta and Trinec always have a special touch, they are one of the best teams in this year's extraliga season. The Spartans have been announcing their assault on the title for the past few seasons, but success still hasn't come. The last time Sparta won the cup was in the 2006/2007 season, since then the closest they have come was in 2016 when they reached the final. The Prague team had a slightly slower start to the pre-season, then their play improved and came wins in the Champions League against TPS Turku and Växjö.
The home team played one game against Pardubice in the league, which they won 5:2 (the game was tied 2:2 with five minutes to go). Now they will face another tough opponent.
Trinec started the season with a 4:0 win against Pardubice, followed by a 2:3 loss to Plzen and a 4:3 win in overtime against Litvinov.
For both teams it will depend on how much the main new players will help, on the Spartan side it is David Kaše, Filip Chlapík, Erik Thorell and Michal Moravčík, on the Trinec side it is Marko Daňo, Andrej Nestrašil and Martin Marinčin. So far, all of these players are showing good performances, the question is whether their form will stay at the same level.
H2H is evenly matched for wins, and this Friday's game is likely to be a struggle as well. More goals could be scored in this game due to the quality of both attacks, both teams could have at least one goal after the first period.
