The Prague team will play their second game in two days, as Sparta is the only team to qualify for the Champions League knockout stage and thus have a very busy schedule. The team with the red colours is in fifth place in the extra league, but they lost their last two games, 3:4 after overtime to Kladno and 4:5 to Plzen. In both cases, Sparta led by at least two goals, so they should work on keeping the two-goal lead. Home team have the highest number of goals scored (54), the most productive player in the whole competition is Erik Thorell (7+13), followed by Filip Chlapík (8+9). Sparta's biggest problem is the defensive and shorthanded play, the injured David Němeček is missing a lot on defense.
Pardubice are in first place so far, already before the season they were expected to improve their performance, which they have confirmed so far in the new season. The most productive player of Pardubice and the best scorer of the whole league is Robert Říčka, who coincidentally came from Sparta. Eleven goals in fourteen games is a great performance. Another great player on the away side is David Cienciala, he came from Mlada Boleslav and is the second most productive player of Dynamo after Říčka. He will probably miss the game against Sparta, which could be a big loss for Richard Kral's team, and another former Spartan Jan Košt'álek will be missing.
Prague team lost twice in a row, but it doesn't happen often the third time. They can benefit from the absence of David Cienciala and Jan Košt'álek, so all three points should remain in the O2 arena.
My prediction: Sparta Prague (in regular time) @ 1.90 (bet365)
