Sparta won three games in a row at home (4:3 after overtime against Plzen, 3:1 against Mlada Boleslav and 6:4 against Litvinov). Sparta has been scoring well so far, but on the other hand 17 goals conceded in five games is a lot. The Spartans got a lot of goals in shorthanded, but in the last two games they've been better, getting one goal and even scoring one in shorthanded.
Spartans' summer signings are paying off so far, as Erik Thorell scored in his fourth consecutive game and is second overall in scoring with 5+4. Filip Chlapik is also doing well (3+5) and Michal Moravcik is indispensable, he is one of the best defenders in the league and can play in every situation. They can also rely on old familiar faces, Michal Repik and Spartan favourite Miroslav Forman are productive.
Brno, like Sparta, have a three-game winning streak (3:2 against Pardubice, 3:2 after overtime against Trinec and 6:5 after penalty shootout against Plzen). Just the last game against Plzen was very crazy, Kometa was down 0:3 and then 1:4, but finally managed to turn it around in the third period to 5:4. The game was already decided but a few seconds before the end, Petr Holik made a huge mistake and Plzen tied the game at 5:5 with three seconds left. The shootout was decided by Luboš Horky's only goal and Kometa Brno got at least two points.
Both teams are very offensively minded, but at the same time they have a high number of goals conceded, so more than 6 goals could be scored.
H2H:
Sparta 5:0 Brno
Brno 2:4 Sparta
Brno 4:3 Sparta (after overtime)
Sparta 6:1 Brno
Sparta 4:3 Brno (after overtime)
My prediction: Over 5.5 Goals @ 1.77
