HOCKEY: Czech Republic
Plzen are currently in fourth place in the table, they had a bad start to the season, but after that they have gained form, especially the new reinforcements, which contribute a lot to the points. They have gained three points from the last three games, but they have not easy opponents (losing to Trinec 1:2 and Boleslav 1:2). The three points were kept at home against Olomouc, where Plzen clearly dominated the game 6:1.
Sparta is on a five-game losing streak, most recently losing 2:4 to Trinec. They were leading again, this time by one goal (1:0), but for the fifth time in a row they failed to hold on to the lead. The Spartans also have a very limited squad, missing Salák, Sobotka, Vitouch, Forman, Němeček, Dvořáček is out on loan and Adam Polášek hasn't joined the team. That's almost half of the team.
The two teams faced each other for the third time this season, with Plzen generating more points (four points from a 3:4 loss after overtime and a 5:4 win). Plzen are very strong at home, while Sparta has won three out of seven away games. The visitors will be missing a lot of players again, only the first line can save them, but it might not be enough against Plzen.
My prediction: Draw No Bet: Plzen @ 2.0 (bet365)
