HOCKEY: Czech Republic
Plzen will welcome Mountfield from Hradec Kralove in the 39th round, both teams are in the top four and hold direct qualification positions for the playoffs, but at the same time they did not manage the last game and will want to avert the loss. Plzen narrowly lost to Litvinov 3:4 after overtime, led twice, but took only one point. Filip Suchý scored, then Martin Lang, who has been scoring well lately, scored and then Petr Kodýtek scored after a beautiful action of Michal Bulíř. Plzen has scored nine times from the last ten games, so it is definitely in good form, with Bulíř and Čerešňák doing the best individually.
The visiting team is two places better in the table and occupies the 2nd place. Hradec had a streak of four wins in a row, but they lost 1:4 in the derby to Pardubice. Ahti Oksanen, the most productive player of Hradec is in great form and is scoring almost a point per game. Coach Martinec can also rely on two solid goalkeepers, Štěpán Lukeš represented the Czech Republic at the Karjala this season, but Henri Kiviaho is getting more space at the moment.
There are quality players on both sides and the little things will make the difference. Both teams are very good in shooting and in the last five games they have scored at least 6 goals. So this time also around 6 goals could be scored.
My prediction: Over 5.5 Goals @ 1.97
