Dynamo Pardubice will welcome Sparta Prague, for whom it will be the first time in this season's extraliga. Pardubice has already shown in the pre-season that they will not be an outsider this year and they have confirmed this in the first two games of the Extraliga, when they managed to win the first game 4:0 against Plzeň, the second game against Boleslav, Pardubice turned the game around from 1:3 and in the end won 4:3.
The home team definitely have character, and the team have also added a few new players (Dominik Frodl, David Cienciala, Robert Říčka, Jan Košt'álek, Dennis Robertson, Marek Hecl and Adam Musil). These players significantly contributed to the first two wins.
They won't have it easy against Sparta, though, as Sparta's squad has also a changes (Matěj Machovský, Ondřej Němec, Jan Piskáček, Lukáš Pech, Andrej Kudrna, Matúš Sukeľ, Lukáš Rousek, Robert Říčka, David Tomášek and Petr Kalina left). The Spartans lost a lot of players, but they managed to get Michal Moravčík, Ondřej Miklis, Zdeněk Doležal, Filip Chlapík, Erik Thorell and David Kaše.
In the playoff semifinal against Liberec, Sparta just paid for the low productivity of the other lines, the first line played very well and Machovský had a good performance against Liberec, but the others remained behind expectations.
Like every year, Sparta will have title ambitions. Team from Prague did well in the pre-season (especially in the Champions League), where the Spartans outplayed Växjö Lakers once and TPS Turku twice. The H2H from the 2020/2021 edition is three wins and one loss for Sparta. However, home team will be a very unpleasant team and I expect, game will end in a draw after regulation time.
