Karlovy Vary have a good start to the season, in the first game they turned around the unfavourable situation against Brno and won 4:3 and against Vítkovice they won comfortably 4:1. The first two games showed the home team that they are definitely not an outsiders.
Catching form early on can be very important from a team point of view and their best players have not dropped points, which could be key throughout the year.
Karlovy Vary will play their third game in a row at home, but they will be up against probably their toughest opponent to date, White Tigers Liberec, who will be hungry for success after their loss to Litvínov.
Liberec narrowly won 1:0 against Hradec and lost 2:3 after a shootout to Litvínov. Since 2016, Liberec have been in the finals four times, but only once won it (in 2016 against Sparta), but it is still a great success for them.
The squad was definitely the strongest in 2016, after the championship title several important players left, but Liberec is still in the top positions. Liberec can rely on goalkeeper Petr Kváča, the defence led by Ladislav Šmíd, and the attack with Michal Birner, Tomas Fillipi and Jakub Klepiš.
