Hradec are in very good form, they have pointed nine times in a row, eight of which were wins, the exception being the last game which ended with Mladá Boleslav winning 4:3 after overtime. Two goals by Kevin Klim, who had a slower start to the season, were not enough, but he has been in form in the last few games. But Finnish rocket Ahti Oksanen has the best form on the home side, picking up one point after another and is currently Hradec's most productive player with 11+9. The mostly defensive Hradec is also showing strength in attack this year, which is often supported by defenders.
The Prague players are having a very strange year this year, losing ten of their last eleven games in the league, most recently 0:2 at České Budějovice. Ironically, Sparta is doing well in the Champions League, where the team from the capital managed to beat Skelleftea 4:3 in the semi-final doubleheader. In the Champions League, Sparta is among the top eight teams, but in the Extraliga, it is only in 11th place, which is definitely not ideal. The bad results are also due to a large number of injury players - Buchtele, Forman, Němeček, Dvořák, Jurčina, Chlapík, Matuškin, Prymula and defender Pogorišny, who was on a month-long trial, were injured until the end of the season. Half of the roster is practically missing, so juniors or players from the farm often get into the game.
Mountfield Hradec Kralove is the favourite, they are very strong at home. The visitors are troubled by a large number of injured players and have the worst form of all teams in the league, so the three points should stay in Hradec.
My prediction: Mountfield Hradec Kralove (in regular time) @ 2.17 (bet365)
