Olomouc are not experiencing the happiest of seasons, with only three wins in their last nine games. But they could bounce back from their last game, as they scored a very valuable 3-1 win in Ceske Budejovice. Traditionally, the two most productive players Jan Káňa and David Krejčí contributed to the victory, this cooperation is good for Olomouc, both of them scored one goal each, the third scorer was Slovak forward Silvester Kusko. More than three points for Olomouc was the return of Branislav Konrad after 112 days, he also contributed to the win. He played his last game on 2 September, a pre-season match with Hradec, when he suffered a serious injury.
Karlovy Vary has won only one of the last seven matches, the last time they lost at home to Liberec 2:3. After a valuable away win against Hradec 4:2, it was a bit of a disappointment, as Vary are very strong at home. Captain Vondráček scored twice against Liberec, who is definitely in scoring form, he has 16 goals already and is only one goal short of equalling his maximum from last season.
If Karlovy Vary wants to win, the rest of the team has to join in, it will be very difficult to win in Olomouc, and Konrád, who is one of the best goalkeepers in the extraliga, will probably be in goal.
My prediction: HC Olomouc (to decision) @ 1.67 (bet365)
