Third-placed Pardubice will welcome Plzen, who are only two points behind Pardubice but have two more games. Pardubice responded to three losses with three wins in a row (4:1 against Olomouc, 6:3 against Trinec and 4:1 against Zlín). Canadian Anthony Camara (4+1) scored in all of these games, which may have put an end to any speculation about a possible trade. Besides Camara, Adam Musil, who came from Liberec before the season, had a very slow start, but now he has caught his form. The home team can also rely on the league's top scorer Robert Říčka, who already has 17 goals to his credit before the half of the season.
Plzen, like its opponent, has won three in a row, most recently in the derby with Karlovy Vary 3:2. The win was decided by Jan Schleiss and the other two goals were scored by Latvian Martins Dzierkals and 18-year-old back David Jiříček, who played in the Karjala and will probably be selected in the first round as the best Czech representative in the upcoming draft. A complication for Plzen will be the loss of Petr Kodytek, who received a two-game suspension for a foul on Karlovy Vary's Lukáš Doudera.
