Budejovice has won four of the last six games, but last time they lost at home to Kometa 2:3. Lukáš Pech contributed to both goals and had two assists. Pech is in a great form, with 10+17 he is the second most productive player in the league behind Erik Thorello from the visiting team. Overall, Budejovice are certainly happy with their season so far, they are in sixth place, their opponent is in eighth place. After an eight-game losing streak, Sparta won 5:2 in Brno and also won the Champions League match against Skellefteå from Sweden, but then fell 2:3 to Vitkovice. The recent recovery of several players (Salák, Vitouch, Sobotka) and the acquisition of new players (Matuškin, Strnad, Pogorišny, Machovský) have been key for Sparta, but David Němeček, one of the best defensemen in the league, is still missing. Miroslav Hořava came to the coach's bench to take care of defense and shorthanded play. The visitors have one of the worst shorthanded play in the whole league and they also concede a lot, they have already conceded 71 goals (only Zlin and Kladno have concede goals).
The Spartans have gotten stronger and will be more dangerous, but Budejovice are very strong at home, beating the Prague team 5:2 last time. Lukáš Pech had two assists, he knows Sparta very well and could score against his former club, overall, he is also scoring 10 goals this season.
My prediction: Lukas Pech scores a goal to decision @ 2.70
