Ceske Budejovice has won four times in the last five games, most recently 4:1 against Mlada Boleslav, with the only loss coming against a strong Pardubice 2:3. In the table, Budejovice hold the sixth place, which is very good compared to their position in the previous season. Surprisingly, Lukáš Pech, who came from Sparta, is doing very well. So far, Pech is second in scoring, collecting over a point per game, which he last did five seasons ago. Of course, his line mate Milan Gulaš, who is right behind him, is helping him to be productive.
Kometa Brno are currently in 11th place and have lost five of their last seven games. Libor Zábranský, who managed to win the Cup with Brno in 2017 and 2018, will help Jiří Kalous on the bench. There have also been changes on the squad, with goalkeeper Jakub Sedláček coming from Olomouc and Marcel Haščák moving to Slovan Bratislava. The visitors would need more scoring from their mainstays, Peter Mueller has scored 7 goals so far, but it's not enough for his standards. On the other hand, Lubos Horky is very surprising, he is the top scorer of Kometa with 9 goals and earned himself an invitation to the national team for the Karjala tournament.
We can expect a very even match and the game could end in a very close difference. In the last match Budejovice won 4:1, Gulaš scored a goal and an assist, so he could score again.
My prediction: Milan Gulas scores a goal to the decision @ 2.30
