ATP - SINGLES: Atlanta (USA), hard - 1/16-finals
The 28-year-old American Denis Kudla is ranked 103rd in the ATP rankings. He prefers fast surfaces and has played the most matches on hard court.
Although Kudla didn't have a great start to the season during the recent grass part his performances went up. His grass score this year is 12/4. He beat players like Evans (27), Anderson (75) and at Wimbledon he dropped out in the third round against Djokovic.
He is making his sixth appearance in Atlanta.
The 27-year-old Australian Christopher O'Connell is 132nd in the ATP rankings. He doesn't have a favourite surface and has played most of his matches on slow clay.
He is having a terrible season this year. The only thing that could be considered a success is the second round of the AO at the beginning of the year. Since then, he hasn't even made it past the first round of the main draw in any of his ten tournaments. The most he's won matches is in the qualifiers, which he hasn't even always passed.
