The home team enters the game with a record of 11-17-4 (6-7-2 at home) and after two losses, 1-6 in Nashville and 1-5 at home to Calgary. After two games without a point and with a score of 2:11, they will surely want to repair their reputation, but their opponent will be Colorado Avalanche, who will go into the game with a record of 18-8-2 (7-6-1 away) and after a 4-2 home win over a good Anaheim team.

Both teams have almost all of their squad ready to fight for more points. Chicago has been missing Reese Johnson for a long time with a shoulder injury. Tyler Johnson won't play and Kevin Lankinen is also out due to Covid-19. Colorado will have to do without Jacob MacDonald, who has an unspecified upper-body injury. Stefan Matteau is also out due to his foot and Ryan Murray has a lower-body injury. Right wing Valeri Nichushkin will also miss his team for approximately 10 days.

* Avalanche are 7-0 in their last seven games when their opponent scores five or more goals in their previous game.
* Avalanche are 4-0 in their last four games when they were a favorite in away game.
* Blackhawks are 5-1 in their last six games when their opponent scores five or more goals in their previous game.
* Blackhawks are 0-5 in their last five games vs. teams from the Western Conference.
* Blackhawks are 0-4 in their last four games when they were outsiders at home game.
* Blackhawks are 0-4 in their last four games.

Chicago vs Colorado (standings)
* goals scored per game: 2.219 (30th) vs. 4.214 (1st)
* goals conceded per game: 3.375 (24th) vs 3.321 (23rd)
* shots on goal per game: 27.97 (31st) vs 33.79 (8th)
* success shooting percentage: 7.93% (28th) vs 12.47% (1st)
* shot success rate of all goalies: 89.40% (26th) vs 89.20% (28th)
* power play usage: 17.48% (21st) vs 24.11% (8th)
* power play defended: 75.00% (27th) vs 75.00% (27th)

The home side will be looking to make amends for the last two high losses. The opponent will be the team that scores the most goals, so it may happen that Chicago will get at least five goals again and that is the basis of my supporting bet that at least five goals will be scored in the game. Plus, neither team has good goaltending and especially Colorado is costing points. In case Avalanche have a great goalie, it would immediately put them as the main contender to win this year's Stanley Cup and the absence of a quality goalie will be noticeable especially in the playoffs. There is no need to even talk about the quality of Colorado's offense, they should definitely work on their defensive game with a goalie. Both teams have below-average power play defended and the difference will be the percentage of power plays, which is on the Avs' side.

My bet:
Colorado Avalanche to win and Over 4.5 Goals @ 2.13
