ENGLAND: Premier League - Round 1
The new UEFA Super Cup winner will open the English league with a home game against Crystal Palace. Last season, Chelsea finished fourth, while the visitors finished 14th.
Thomas Tuchel has made quite an impression since his arrival at Stamford Bridge and fans are expecting a title this 2021/2022 season. Chelsea also got a big signing from Inter Milan, Romelu Lukaku. Lukaku won't make it into the game yet, but even so, Chelsea's offensive power is high - Werner, Havertz, Pulisic or Mount should definitely provide some goals. Unfortunately Ziyech got injured in the Super Cup against Villarreal.
Vieira has joined Crystal Palace to replace Roy Hodgson and the 45-year-old will be keen to put himself in good stead as a coach in the Premier League after enjoying an ovation as a player.
New manager Patrick Vieira will be without Andros Towsend, who has left for Everton, Van Anholt has headed to Turkey and Mohamad Sakho has returned to France.
On the other hand, defenders Andersen has arrived from Lyon and Guehi from Chelsea, and he will again rely mainly on Wilfried Zaha in the offense.
It won't be an easy game, the away side have always had a good pre-season, however Chelsea have already played a tough game against Villarreal and such a game can't be compared to the pre-season. The desire for the title will drive the home team forward from the first minutes. Chelsea should enter the new season victorious and I believe they will win by more than one goal in front of their home fans.
