CHALLENGER MEN - SINGLES: Forli (Italy), hard (indoor) - 1/8-finals
This match will offer us a German duel between Julian Lenz (300) and Cedric-Marcel Steb (227).
Lenz is a 28-year-old tennis player and the highest he has been ranked was 227th (January 2020). Last year, he didn't do too well in the first half of the season, but then he started to pick up with the move indoors, beating the likes of Ilkel, Draper and right here in Forli, Gaius and Stricker. This week he beat Taipei Hsu here.
Stebe is a 31-year-old player and has a high of 71 (February 2012). Last season wasn't very good for him and outside of 3 clay Challenger CFs he played almost nothing. Here he took on qualifier Lazarov.
I expect an even battle from this match. However, Lenz is a slight favorite for me. Towards the end of last year his performances in indoor went up and he played good matches here.
Julian Lenz to win @ 2.0 (bet365)
