CHALLENGER WOMEN - SINGLES: Karlsruhe (Germany), clay - Quarter-finals
10.09.2021
16:00 CET
This match will offer us a duel between Romanian tennis player Adina Jaqueline Cristian (142) and Mariana Nastasja Schunk (439) from Germany.
Cristian is a 23 year old tennis player and is currently 2 positions under her best. She can play on all surfaces and her best performance on clay this year was in Palermo, where she beat Brancaccio and Zheng, and in quarter-final she took Dodin (103.) to 3 sets.
She had a very tough draw here at the tournament, but so far she is doing very well. She beat 2:1 Burel (92.) in the 1st round and then she beat 2:0 Bronzetti (172.).
Schunk is only 18 years old and is 7 positions under her best. She won her 1st women's title in Bydgoszcz, Poland last month and did the same at home in Braunschweig, where she came from qualification to claim her 2nd trophy.
Here at the tournament she beat Hobgarski (305.) in 3 sets and then beat 2:0 Sharma (114.).
Schunk is definitely a talented young player, but she's not my favorite in this match. She has won 2 titles, but the highest ranked player she has beaten was only in the top 4 hundred of the rankings. She did beat Sharma here, but I have to say she played really badly.
Jaqueline Cristian to win @ 2.20 (bet365)
