CHALLENGER MEN - SINGLES: Antalya 3 (Turkey), clay - Quarter-finals
This match will offer us a duel between Croatian tennis player Duje Ajdukovic (251) and Ryan Peniston (284) from Great Britain.
Ajdukovic is a 20 year old tennis player and is currently 4 positions away from his ranking maximum. He is mainly a clay court player and played his best at the Napoli Challenger this year, taking semifinal after wins over Furness, Martin and Basic. He went on to play 4 more quarterfinals. His last appearance was on the hard in Manama, where he finished in the 2nd round with later winner Ramanathan. Here he defeated American Chappell in the 1st round and then swept Portugal's Cacao.
Peniston is a 26-year-old player and is at his ranking maximum. He is strongest on hard court and managed to triumph twice in Heraklion, Greece in May. He was also very successful at the clay challenger in Prague where, after wins over Zekic, Ignatik, Diaz Acosta and Olivieri, he fell short of Agamenone in the final match. Here he defeated Fatic in 3 sets and Svrcina, who was close to beating British player, but he had health problems and lost the match.
In this match, the Croatian tennis player is the favourite for me. He is strongest on clay and although Peniston can play on clay, he doesn't impress me here and I expect him to say goodbye to the tournament after this match.
