CHALLENGER MEN - SINGLES: Antalya 4 (Turkey) - Qualification, clay - Final
This match will offer us a duel between Romanian tennis player Cesar Cretu (734) and Oleg Prikhodek (695) from Ukraine.
Cretu is a 20-year-old tennis player and is currently at his ranking maximum. This year he plays mainly clay and has a 39/15 score on clay. However, in the last few weeks he has been in great form and has made his way into 3 final battles. The last one was last week here in Antalya when he beat Cacao, Apostol and Jecan and was not able to beat Michalski. Here his opponent, home player Erel, surrendered in the 1st qualifying round in the 1st set.
Prihodko is a 24-year-old player and is 17 positions away from his best position. He has played most of his matches on clay this year and the opening part of the season hasn't gone too well for him either, with most of them already in qualifiers. In August, he had a good tournament in Telavi, Georgia, where he beat the likes of Cash, Erel and Bondarevskiy in the final to celebrate the title. In other tournaments he didn't even make it past the quarterfinal. He hasn't done well in his last matches and last week he fell smoothly to Gerch. Here in the 1st qualifying round he managed to turn around his match with the Dutch Veldheer.
The Romanian tennis player is my favourite in this match, he is playing in great form and I expect him to beat Prihodek and advance to the main event.
