CHALLENGER MEN - SINGLES: Forli 2 (Italy), hard (indoor) - 1/16-finals

I like this match and I'll play a win here for a 29 year old Frenchman Antoine Escoffier (ATP 314) when he is "hanging around" on career best ranking numbers and for example last season he had a 68/26 score when he played quite a lot there and most of all he played at Futures where he won 3 tournaments and as far as Challengers are concerned, the furthest he went was through qualification to the quarterfinals of Biel. His results aren't bad, he's a fighter and he's not a player who "walks away" from a match. He's playing very well indoors where last year he was 26/10 and his total is 131/79, so as a proper Frenchman he has experience there which is of course needed indoors.

We will also look at his opponent which will be 22 year old Italian Francisco Forti (ATP 330) when he is mainly a clay player when clay has 84/72 overall, but for example hard surface 27/18 and indoor 18/16, so he is not in negative numbers there, but he doesn't play as well as on his favourite clay. This year he has a 0/1 score when indoors he lost to the outsider Mukund in two sets. Last year he had a 43/30 score when it was a very erratic season in terms of matches.

It suits Escoffier to play indoors and he should beat Forti.

Antoine Escoffier to win @ 1.40 (bet365)
