CHALLENGER MEN - SINGLES: Charlottesville (USA), hard (indoor) - Quarter-finals
This match will offer us a duel between Australian tennis player Aleksandar Vukic (190) and Jack Sock (153) from the USA.
Vukic is a 25-year-old player and is 8 positions away from his maximum in the rankings. The first 2/3 of the season didn't work out too well for him and his highs were 2 clay challenger quarter-finals. With the move to hard in the US he caught on a bit and played a semifinal in Cary, beating Caruso and Svajda. He also qualified in Indian Wells over Blanche and Fratangelo and beat Andujar in the main event. Indoors he recently beat Escobedo, Kinglsley and Bolt in Columbus and knocked out by Purcell in semifinal. There he beat Popko and Taipeice Wu in the second round in 3 sets.
Sock is a 29-year-old tennis player and the highest he has climbed is No. 8 in the world rankings (November 2017). His best game this year was on hard in Little Rock, where he went all the way to the title. His last appearance was in Indian Wells, where he fell in the 1st round in 3 sets to Millman. Here he is doing well so far and went without losing a set over Torpegaard and Stebe.
Neither of the players is really looking for the indoor, but the American player, who won his most valuable title when he won the Masters in Paris, is a bit closer to it. He is playing very well here so far and I expect him to win.
Jack Sock to win @ 1.50 (bet365)
