Right at the start of Round 18, there's a betting dilemma. It's not easy to pick a favorite from the pair of teams in Friday's game. The two rivals are separated by six points after 17 games, with the 14th-placed Celta being the poorer side, but they will have the home advantage at their backs. However, they have made sinfully little use of it this season. At their stadium, the footballers from Vigo have won only one of their nine matches (1-2-6) and are the second worst in the league in this aspect. But ninth-placed Espanyol, for a change, are struggling on foreign pitches and are also second to last in the table of away games, having not won a single one (0-3-5). On Tuesday, both teams played the second round of the Copa del Rey against teams from the lower competitions and they were very hopeful for the "obligatory" promotion. This was especially true for Celta, who won 2-1 in Andorra after extra time. Espanyol's match at Cristo Atlético ended with the same result, only Espanyol managed to decide a narrow victory "just" three minutes before the end of normal time. The last five matches between Celta and Espanyol have ended in a draw! Given the above, i expect an even match this time as well. I will therefore bet on a draw in the Double Chance.
