LaLiga - Round 5
Friday's LaLiga fifth round game will feature two teams that have not yet won in the new season. Celta Vigo have only one point in four matches played, 0:0 draw in Pamplona, and lost the other three (Atlético 1:2, Bilbao 0:1, Real Madrid 2:5).
Celta Vigo should come in with a relatively clean bill of health, after Jose Fontan and Kevin Vazquez were both fit to make the squad for the clash with Real Madrid following spells on the sidelines. Iago Aspas will continue to lead the line alongside Santi Mina, with the pair having registered combined tallies of 26 goals and 17 assists in La Liga last season.
In the same period, Cádiz have one more point, 1-1 draw with both Levante and Betis in the first two rounds, then lost 2-3 at home to Pamplona and 0-2 to Real Sociedad. It was an absolutely miserable performance from Cadiz. They was constantly under pressure. And they only have one shot on target the whole game. They deservedly lost.
Cadiz come into Friday's game without centre-back Cala, who was shown a red card in the defeat to Real Sociedad and will serve a suspension as a result. He could be replaced by Varazdat Haroyan, who was an unused substitute in that game.
Friday's clash is thus a good opportunity for both sides to end the wait for their first win of the new season. I give Celta Vigo the better chance. They plays at home, they have a better quality squad and finished higher (eighth) than Cadiz (twelfth) last season and Celta Vigo beat opponent in four of the five matches.
H2H: Last season
Cadiz 0:0 Celta Vigo
Celta Vigo 4:0 Cadiz
My bet:
Handicap: Celta Vigo -1.0 @ 1.95
